About this station
An Ambient Weather WS-2000 in a back yard in north Phoenix, Arizona, at roughly 1430 feet. It measures temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, wind speed, gust and direction, rainfall, solar radiation and UV index.
The console uploads over the local network to a small relay
(ecowitt2mqtt), which publishes to an MQTT broker. WeeWX reads that feed
and keeps the long-term record; Home Assistant reads the same feed and handles
alerting and automation. This page is regenerated every five minutes.
How far back the record goes
Observations begin 13 September 2025. Everything before 20 September 2026 was imported from Home Assistant's long-term statistics, so the climatology here covers more than a year rather than starting the day the hardware setup changed.
Two things to know about that imported stretch:
- Daily temperature extremes before 20 September 2026 are conservative by roughly 1°F. The imported data is hourly, and the true peak of a Phoenix afternoon falls between hourly samples.
- There is no wind direction before 20 September 2026, so anything involving direction — the wind rose included — begins on that date.
Wind gust records are exact throughout, including the imported period: a gust is a peak by definition, and it was imported as one.
